Aerospace division attend Northwest Aerospace Alliance Conference

Peter Heap and Matthew Heath of the Jonathan Lee Recruitment Aerospace, Defence and Aviation Division attended the NWAA’s (Northwest Aerospace Alliance) second Annual Conference in Blackburn this week. With a large number of representatives from a range of aerospace organisations in attendance, this well presented and detailed regional aerospace gathering enabled a range of guest speakers to confirm the status of the global aerospace sector as well as discuss the opportunities for innovation growth and R&D funding.

With presentations from GKN, UKTI, AMRC and the AGP, the aerospace sector continued to confirm its’ growth position on a global basis with an ongoing demand for civil aircraft. The UK has 3000 aerospace sector suppliers and employs 230,000 personnel. Commentary was provided in reference to the ongoing supply chain challenges of quality and delivery conformance as well as the opportunity for R&D funding through the UK Government for the SME. 

Matthew Heath, Managing Consultant of the Aerospace and Defence Division commented:

About the NWAA
The North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA) was formed in 1994 to represent and support the Aerospace Industry across the North West of England. NWAA represents approximately 25% of the UK aerospace industry with over 220 member companies and a combined turnover in excess of £7 Billion. 

The NWAA has developed considerable technical expertise to support aerospace companies through the delivery of over £20 Million of supply chain improvement programmes such as Aerospace Supply Chain Excellence (ASCE), Growing Autonomous Mission Management Applications (GAMMA) and the National Aerospace Technology Programme (NATEP).
