1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2015 is a landmark report and celebration of some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK.
As well as identifying 1,000 companies, the report examines in detail the opportunities and challenges facing SMEs and looks at the sectors and trends that will shape the future of the UK economy.
Inside the report
The report is compiled and researched by The London Stock Exchange Group, and rather than emulate other rankings of fast-growing SMEs, they have expanded the report due to the diversity of what inspires British Industry and recognised the number of companies beyond the normal 100 to 1,000.
The report focuses on metrics beyond short-term revenue and profit growth. Often, analysis of SME performance does a good job of ranking companies that are operating in industries at the top of the cycle. Interesting, but not necessarily reflecting the wider economy. The 1000 companies selection criteria require companies to have shown not just growing revenue in at least three out of the last four years, but also to have outperformed their sector peers. This unique methodology, devised by DueDil (itself an SME), reveals a community of UK businesses richer and more varied than has ever been identified in any other exercise of this type.
50 Recruitment Firms Included.
In this The second report Includes an investigation of trends emerging one year further on from the financial crisis which interestingly shows a recovery being built on jobs, with 50 recruitment firms including Jonathan Lee Recruitment making the list, a 100% increase on the previous year.
